Mom & Me
For children at least 30 months old
Classes: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday 9:15 - 11:15 am
Class size: Maximum 10 children

Children attend one morning per week with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver. This class meets in four 8 week sessions so that children may be added to the class as they reach 2 1/2 years old. The program runs from September – May. The curriculum is based on Bible stories and seasonal/holiday activities. Mom & Me provides a special time for moms and children as they make crafts and play games together. The children also learn important interaction skills as they play with a wide variety of age-appropriate toys. The gymnasium and playground offer the young children plenty of large motor activity. Moms enjoy talking to other adults and the friendships that are formed with other parents are an added bonus to attending this class.


3 Year Old
For children who will be 3 by October 1st
Classes:

  • Monday and Wednesday 9:00 – 11:30 am

  • Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 – 11:30 am

  • Tuesday and Thursday 12:15 – 2:45 pm
Class size: Maximum 14 children

This class helps a child learn the skills of social interaction, sharing, separation from parents, and behaving appropriately in a group environment. Story rug time provides the opportunity to learn listening skills and playtime provides the exercise which young bodies need. The curriculum includes colors, shapes, numbers, Bible stories, seasonal/holiday activities, and units such as Five Senses, Farm Animals, Air/Water/Soil, Transportation, etc. On a daily basis the children participate in circle time, make a project, play at interest centers, enjoy singing, receive a snack (provided by the school), and have playtime in the gym or playground. Each room has a sandbox, a doll/kitchen area, truck/block area, play dough and paint fun, a book area, puzzles, and many other toys for small motor coordination. All of this takes place in an atmosphere of fun and unconditional loving care for each child.

Parents are invited to join their children at special holiday programs throughout the year. A Parent Night is held in October and two Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled during the year.


4 year old
For children who will be 4 by October 1st
Classes:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 – 11:30 am

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:15 – 2:45 pm
Class size: Maximum 16 children

This class is a kindergarten readiness program. A letter of the alphabet will be taught weekly, with an emphasis on recognition and writing of both the letters and the child’s name. Listening skills, self-control, and increased confidence are improved as the child interacts with the teachers and classmates. The curriculum includes a review of colors and shapes, name/number/alphabet recognition and writing, Bible truths, seasonal/holiday activities and thematic units. On a daily basis the children participate in circle time, make a project, play at interest centers, enjoy singing, receive a snack (provided by the school), and have playtime in the gym or playground. Each room has a sandbox, a doll/kitchen area, truck/block area, play dough and paint fun, a book stand, puzzles, and many other toys for small motor coordination. Each child is considered a unique, special individual and the teachers provide encouraging praise.

A Parent Night is held in October and two Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled during the year.


PreK
For children turning 5 between August and December of the school year
Classes:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 – 11:30 am

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 12:15 – 2:45 pm
Class size: Maximum 16 children

This class promotes an enriched kindergarten readiness curriculum for children missing the kindergarten cut-off date or those with summer birthdays who are not yet ready to enter kindergarten. The class includes additional language arts activities, extended math readiness, social studies, science, self-help skills, and cooking. Additional time is spent on letter sounds, rhyming words, and language expansion. Children are given more independent work and will be expected to follow directions. Children are prepared for their kindergarten experience under the guidance of caring teachers.
